Hello World.
I’m a self confessed technophobe, I started expressing myself with stories and verse on a blackboard outside my home. Rain and chalk though are not a good mix! So after years of pushing myself, and a surprise turn of events, I now have this blog thing, which has the longest domain name ever. Please forgive if the technical side is not good, hopefully you’ll find the content better.
I am strongly influenced by the words of Bob Dylan. My main drivers are the abhorrence of greed, violence and selfishness, and the love of friends.
All content is written by myself. I’m not sure if it’s correct to use one’s proper name, you can call me M.B (Meadowhaed Bard)
Please be aware, I suffer from depression, so if I disappear for a while, don’t worry, I will return to the surface at some point.
Hands
These are the hands from my old school days,
Artwork, woodwork now all in a haze.
Those formative days, of skill and pride,
The skills that like a horseman I’d learn to ride.
These are the hands from my apprentice years,
The hands that let me surpass all of my peers.
Plaudits and awards I won a plenty,
I was best at my craft by the time I was twenty.
These are the hands, that built my own business,
Both home and abroad. Oh, the sweet smell of success.
New friends shook these hands through those magical days,
So wonderful and special in so many ways.
These are the hands that placed the ring,
On the hand of my wife that made my heart sing.
We worked together with my hands at the helm,
Any obstacle together we’d overwhelm.
These are the hands which built our house,
Where we would live, my hands, me, and spouse.
At first just us two, but soon two more,
These hands always keeping the wolf from the door.
These are the hands now all burnt and blistered,
From a freak accident most have insisted.
So what do I do now. I haven’t a clue,
Without my old hands oh what will I do?
Hands part two.
Some brain cell put their hand up at the back of the class,
Why not use us, you dumb silly ass.
Without us telling your hands what to do,
They couldn’t stick a stamp, with a pot full of glue!
So this is what I’ve decided to do,
Write silly blogs to entertain all of you.
I can write verse and stories, and all that stuff,
But with computers it seams I’m not good enough!
In error I have the worlds longest domain,
When I should have had something simple and plain.
I’m going to keep going things can only get better,
You can’t miss the name, then you’ll read my letter.
