If I lost all my possessions I’d be in prison, roaming about on the streets naked is an offence, to start with, but in these unenlightened times having no money is also an offence.
Is dignity classed as a possession ? If everything else was taken away from me, I hope at least I’d be left with that.
Haven’t put any Dylan on my blog for a while, so in the light of recent events our burglary and all, this seems apt. “Dignity” From the album “Oh Mercy”
Englishman stranded in the blackheart wind Combin’ his hair back, his future looks thin. Bites the bullet and he looks within for dignity.
Lost Souls. By Meadowhead Bard.
You can break into my house, you can search high and low. Take what you want and then just go.
You don’t have no morals, they’re not something you can steal, you have no empathy either, so you’ll never know how I feel.
From when you entered this life, no one gave a damn, no moral guidance education just a sham.
You can search through our belongings, you won’t find dignity. I keep that next to my heart so nobody can see.
I feel so sorry for you, you only just exist, on the edge of humanity in a cloud of fog and mist.
Maybe one day we’ll find a cure for all societies ills. Then they’ll be no more lost souls wondering those foggy hills.
