The Snowman and the Fridge.

I really ought to do a Tolkien here and draw a map to show our area. Basically we live at the top of a main road, with little access down the side of the house. The house is built on the side of a ravine, with a footpath running up the bottom of the valley.

The Snowman and the fridge.

It snowed so heavy, it snowed and snowed,
Cars nor coaches could get up our road.
In our back garden the snow was higher than my little Ann. “Keith Oh Keith” She shouts, “Can we build a snowman ?”

So we got out our shovels we got out our spade, and
soon in our back garden a giant snowman we’d made.
Ann put two sprouts and a carrot at the top of his thighs, “No Ann” I told her, they’re his nose and his eyes

That carrot it made him a lovely nose,
we even made him little fingers and toes.
I got one of my old hats out, plonked it on his head,
We stood back and admired him, “He’s beautiful”” Ann said.

As we stood and looked a tear formed in his eye,
“Oh no he’s melting” Cried Ann “ “He’s going to die”.
“Don’t worry Little Ann, we’ll get some blankets, to keep him cold”. “No we’ve got to figure a plan, it’s going to get warmer I’m told”

We need a big freezer was my idea, we’ll keep him alive Ann do not fear.
So to our local fridge shop we did drive,
and found a massive freezer to keep him alive.

It wouldn’t go down the side of our dwelling,
Tears in my Ann’s eyes soon started welling.
At the back of our house is a ravine, we can carry it up there just at a pinch, then up to the garden by means of my winch.

So we winched the freezer up the side of the valley,
with some help from our friends Chis and Sally.
We all looked at each, then Ann said,
“He’s as heavy as piece of heavy lead”

We’ll dig a big hole, under, prop him up as we go,
Chis looked at me “We can’t do that, you silly so and so”. Chris was out voted a big hole was soon dug,
and soon on ten legs in the hole snow man stood.

We dropped down the fridge in one end of the hole, pushed it under snowman one at a time took out a pole. Snowman now sat in his massive freezer,
Chris said, how we going to get him out of the hole you silly old geezer.

Scaffold poles set up, we used the winch,
lifted both out it was such a cinch. We filled in the hole, and there they stood, Snowman in his freezer looking so good.

We ran out a cable plugged in the mains,
Job now done, time to rest our achy brains.
Across the ravine, we built a bridge,
So everyone can come visit Snowman in fridge.

In the winter we open his door,
So he can see the snow on the floor.
In the summer we keep it closed,
To a molten soggy mess Ann would be opposed.
