Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

Modesty Prevents.

I know what I’m good at, I know what I’m bad at, but I’m not telling all.

Today though did prove one thing, I am good at making friends. Our son took my wife and I out, to see his and his ladies new house, and to meet said ladies parents. I think it’s going to be a long and strong friendship.

Modesty Prevents.

Im good at knowing what I can’t do, I’m quite good at talking to you.
I’m good at regretting, bad at forgetting,
quite good at thinking things through.
I’m quite good at chess, who would have guessed ?
But don’t like leaving friends blue.

I can’t dance for my life, good at loving my wife.
No good at directions, fine with connections,
With people I think are worthwhile.
I can make people laugh, follow the right path,
I don’t have cunning or guile.

I know I’m alive, I know how to survive.
There’s some cannot even say that.
So I’ll sing my song, I don’t have very long.
Before I’m laid out like a mat,
Now I’ll say fair well and that’s that.

All words Meadowhead Bard.
