Most certainly not ! Last year I was struggling with the aging process, after four years of the building of the Bentley model diversion, it was like I was waking up four years older, but going from my 60s into my 70s made it worse. Just getting used to that then my burns accident kind of drew a line under everything. “You’re old now mate, get used to it”
So thank goodness I’ve been able to write and do this blog, and thank goodness for the friends I’ve found along the way, a welcome addition edition to my group of existing friends.
I decided to pull today’s verse, considered it not suitable. I’ve replaced it with something age related from my back catalogue. Inspired by ob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues.
OAP Blues.
Gerald’s at pharmacy
Waiting for his medicine,
I’m on to the gas company,
Trying to use diplomacy.
Can’t afford the heating,
The government say I’m bleating,
The rise in my pension,
Far too low to mention.
Look out OAP,
You just don’t see,
All the rogues are queueing,
For the money, you are owing.
Get away from the rat race,
Go and find a warm space.
Do you have the App yet?
Can you have a nap yet?
What is streaming?
Don’t understand the meaning,
Who is Siri, and who the hells Alexa?
You can have it all if you pay that little extra.
Don’t want an iphone,
Rather have a jam scone.
What the hells a down load anyway,
Is that how they fill your pillow today?
What is bubble tea?
Sounds like froth to me,
Burger with a brioche,
What a load a tosh!
Don’t want this modern living,
It’s not at all forgiving,
Don’t want to make a fuss,
But it’s no good for the likes of us.
We don’t want a pod cast,
We don’t want to be harassed,
You can keep your bank card,
I like my cash to be hard.
Dress well, fight well,
Don’t fall for the hard sell.
Stand straight, walk tall,
Though your backs against the wall.
Don’t let them be condescending,
When your tech needs it a mending.
All words Meadowhead Bard.
