Us non believers, we have to do something this time of year, so we celebrate the end of days getting shorter, and the beginning of days getting longer. So I’ve had a bit of fun with that, but then I’ve written a short verse, about the ridiculous situation we are in, where people feel compelled to buy things no one’s going to need or eat. It so sad, especially when it makes people so stressed. The only people feeling cheer will be the supermarket owners. No matter what though, please let the children enjoy while they can.
PAGANS CRISTMAS.
It will soon be winter solstice,
Us pagans celebrate then you know.
We usually dance in the back garden,
But we’re old, and it’s cold, especially in the snow.
So we’ll dance around the kitchen naked.
We really must get furniture in there.
Then we’ll drink mead from eggcups,
And fall asleep without a care.
A SAD PASTIME.
I sit here sit in the supermarket cafe,
Watching people buy what they don’t need.
With all the waste there’s going to be,
Probably all the starving we could feed.
All words Meadowhead Bard.
