”My name it ain’t nothin, my age it means less etc, etc” A line from Bob Dylan’s “With God On Our Side” This is my slant on that line.
My Name.
My name’s not important, and neither am I
I’m hear a few years and then I will die
No illusions of grandeur no false pretensions
I just live my life with the best of intentions
Call me simple call me uncouth
Whatever you call me I know the truth
I don’t know Latin, I don’t know Greek
There is only ever truth in the words that I speak
I don’t believe in God, I don’t believe in Heaven
I know right from wrong there’s no need to threaten
Take me or leave me that’s all I will ask
I’m just what I am, no mystique veil or mask.
All words, except Dylan quote Meadowhead Bard.
