My readers must be aware, I’m on a bit of a downer at the moment, all this political stuff and warmomgery. I can’t seem to get inspired by anything else, so I’ve just written a bit of nonsense. A definite case of MTH (Must try harder)
Leisure
Leisure
I sit and watch the rain run down the window pane
Lonely sad and bored stiff
But I must rest my body riddled in pain
I’ll just sit doze and think what if
What if the world was flat not round
What if the moon was cheese
What if below was sky, above was ground
And all houses made of peas
If glass hadn’t been invented all cars would be dented
Because people can’t see through steel
And if all things heavy attracted a levy
We wouldn’t have invented the wheel
If mice wore clogs, and rode around on dogs
Pretending to be cowboys and Indian’s
If toads weren’t toads and frogs weren’t frogs
If rabbits were Homo sapiens
If black was white, and grey not in between
If colours were shapes, and men were apes
Not much difference would be seen
If Lewis Carroll hadn’t wrote nonsense
If Spike Milligan was lacking in brain
For me what would be the consequence
I’d probably be declared insane.
All words Meadowhead Bard.
