“The book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy the law of jungle and the sea are your only teachers” From Bob Dylan’s “Jokerman” from the album “Infidels” I’m still not sure to whom Dylan is referring to in this powerful song but I have listened to it lately and it could quite easily be about a certain US president, if the time line wasn’t out of course
One or two lines really stand out eg “You’re a man of the mountains, you can walk on clouds, manipulator of crowds, your a dream twister”.
Then there’s “A friend to the martyr, a friend to the woman of shame”

It’s a strange thing, since I started doing a bit of writing, I seem to have lost interest in reading. One reason maybe, I analyse too much. It’s also not easy finding books either, that aren’t about murder or war, and I don’t like autobiographies, I call them “ I I “ books most are just self indulgent.

So I’ve written a little today, no poem though so it’s a repeat again, I have been working on some stuff for future posts though but they just don’t fit the prompts.

Book Club.

If you like to read a novel,
Or even a heavy tome.
The book worm book club,
Is where you’ll feel at home.

The first book recommended,
Was by authoress Miss Page Turner.
A really graphic novel,
And for Page a real good money earner.

Then Based in the nether regions,
In the south of old Norway.
It brought a tear to all our eyes,
The nail in the Banister, By R Stornaway.

If you are out for coffee,
You’ll get some funny looks,
If you’re sat reading Fifty Shades,
One of the spiciest of books.

Toy Story by Warren Peace,
Is one of the greatest tales.
Nearly as Good as Dopy Mick,
That was about a whale.

It’s not just fiction we all read,
Sometimes we really go to town,
We read Isaac Newton’s Gravity,
I couldn’t put it down.

When talking about these novels,
We can’t forget Charlotte Bronte.
But I prefer more down to earth,
Something more like The Full Monty.

The Full Monty had done the rounds,
Being read by many others.
By the time it got to me,
I had to read it without its covers.

So their are many books,
Of different types and sizes,
But every now and then, get off your bum,
And do some exercises.
