Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

Shoes and Ships and Sails and Sealing Wax.

Also of course cabbages and kings. It’s a king I talk about today, an infant king, a king of nonsense a dark king.
Title of course inspired by Lewis Carrol, what a genius he was.

I want to be a child

If I could be a child for just one day
All adult mindsets, ethics and morals put away
No inhibitions adult based fears
No concern whatsoever for any of my peers

How would it be to have no constraints?
Not to have to worry about others complaints?
Have tantrums and fits outbursts and rages
Actions considered by grown ups outrageous

Children mainly think only of themselves
We wonder why we fall under their spells
Is it their innocence their beguiling smile?
Is there hidden behind it cunning and guile?

If we could only speak to a child on their very own level
Find out their strategies, and in what they might revel
Should we ask the question,
some spoiled child to stump?
Oh go on then! Let’s risk it please tell us Mr Trump.
