Changing of the Guards.

I write, I build my model cars, I work on our house, but just at the moment I want to shout, another part of my world is going, because of apathy. I can’t say what it is at the moment but it’s going to leave a massive hole in my life. I can almost see the “Thing” the monster that’s just eating my world, whilst people just stare at their phones, their TV’s and whatever other distractions. I think maybe mine is the first generation to experience this theft of belonging, because change has never been so exponential. Although I have titled this piece “Changing of the Guards” The next generation aren’t going to be guarding anything, or at least if they are they will be asleep at their posts. The prompt asked the other day “What Would I Write to My 100 Year Old Self” I’m 71 now and I have had enough.

TRIVIAL PURSUITS.

Trivial pursuits, is quite a good game, I’m playing it now with all of your brains
Trying to spur you into some king of action, call in truths, shout out names
We are always saying our leaders are insane always saying war inane
An economy can’t function without massive sales, without soldiers, attempts at war will fail.
Put down the guns, put away your purse, tell them they aren’t putting OUR world in a hearse.

All words Meadowhead.
