Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

Eyes Wide Open.

I wish I had the skill or ability to put the right post on, on the right day. Today’s was accidentally published on the 21st, what a maroon! so had to come up with something else.

Not had any Dylan quotes recently, this one from “Foot of Pride” From the album “Infidels” fits nicely. “He only dealsin cash, he’d sell tickets to a plane crash, not somebody that you’d play around with much”

Eyes Wide Open.

Come in sit down, let me remove the wool from over eyes
Let me show you the real world, before it finally dies
We’ve all been cheated and misled by vagabonds and rogues
We can’t see they’ve blinded us, they have no moral codes

From power and greed, they take their lead
We’re nought but fodder on which they feed
What you think you want, you do not
It’s all part of these parasites plots

If you’re good, you’ll go to heaven, of you’re not it’s hell
Do you want it, do you need it, it’s so hard to tell
So sit a while I’ll revive your sight
You’ll soon know the evil of wealth and might.
