Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

Queen of Hearts.

The biggest risk I would like to take, is to step out of this bubble, and do something, something big, something momentous. Something to make a difference. I feel guilty of letting others, make the case against those that are ruining our beautiful planet.
I would like to meet the young lady I’ve written about in my second poem, hug her and stand with her, against the wind.

I Dare To Dream.

I dare to dream, of where I’ve been, and where I will be going, where I go the sun will shine and the tides they all keep flowing. Where I’ve been I’ve left behind I hope a little knowledge, that I’ve left a mark, a little spark, and a little bit courage.

I dare to dream, there will come a time, from our shackles we’ll be freed, religion, greed, and war for those there’ll be no need. I alas will never see for all that I’ve been yearning, For there are many miles to go and many years of learning.

Young Lady.

Oh young Lady, you’re my hero, For spelling out the truth. It’s such a dirty rotten shame, It’s costing you your youth.

I feel guilt in asking you, To carry on the fight. So many people in this world, It just doesn’t feel quite right.

Your belief so strong, against a world gone wrong, The sacrifice your making unprecedented. One day I know, if we make it through, your name in rock will be cemented.

You do so much, I do a little, Let’s just hope we make things better, I’m just in awe of the work you do, Our lovely brilliant Greta.

It’s not accidental that Greta is an anagram of Great
