My wife does the gardening she loves those fuchsia bushes, me I’d rather have a pasty.
I always try and live for today and look toward the future. The past ten years or so haven’t been that good for me, what with my cancer and then the burns, my luck has to change soon.
I have my wife and I have my friends, so I try to enjoy today, and look forward to tomorrow.
Cross Roads.
I stand on the corner of life and death
Seventy one years old now, can’t be that much left
As I struggle to find a seam of peace
“Three score years and ten” whispered soon all will cease
So I wring out the damp rag of life
Trying to squeeze a drop of joy between the trouble and strife
Some days good, some days bad
Try to think of the love I’ve had
Friends from near friend from far
No names mentioned, you know who you are
All those who have rallied, even those now past
That flag of love flies from the mast
So come on you motley crew, you love me and I love you
Tomorrow is another day we must do what we must do
We’ll empty out that seam of joy
Spread it round every girl and boy.
All words Meadowhead Bard.
