I’m Attached.

So, she pointed me in the right direction, told me which bus to catch, and off I went on the one hour journey to see the physiotherapist at the hospital on the other side of town. We had heavy show overnight, but by now, early afternoon, it is now turning to brown slush. The journey across town never the best scenery at the best of times now resembles bricks and concrete sitting in some cold vile soup. So, what do I do ? Sit and write of course.

I was attached to my mother never much of a lover, until I was twenty years old.
On a blind date, can you relate ? I met the love of my life
This beautiful lady, I asked her maybe, would she consider being my wife?
Fifty years now past, who’d have thought it would last, never been out in the cold

All our cards on the table, that’s how we’re able to always weather the storm
So we’re both attached, our love can’t be matched until the end of our days
She feeds me and cleans me, and other things maybe, I keep us safe and warm
Though insanity rules, we’re nobodies fools while others they live in a haze

We live in this bubble, while outside there’s trouble we just sit back and laugh
Feuding and fighting I can’t see it righting itself any time soon
So get on with the games, call me any names I’ll continue this path
Recruit all the masses all lads and lasses, I’ll never be your goon.

Though they’re made of plastic toy guns, can cause drastic changes to young minds.

All words Meadowhead Bard.
