A Tribute To John Lennon.

You know I often twist things around to fit the prompt, but a post I had on the other day (Clean the World 30/12/25/ ) would have been an exact match for today’s prompt. So, first there was that fantastic cleaning product, then the truth pill now the pill that lets people see the truth. I could have waisted my time inventing a vacuum cleaner with superfluous sticky out plastic bits that don’t perform any necessary function but I l left that to someone else. It wasn’t my son, but it did rhyme with that.
I would love to RUIN a few businesses, besides the obvious weapons dealers, drug dealers etc. I find toy guns absolutely repulsive, “Ah ! “people say, but the kids are only playing. Ok then, so why are dolls given to little girls ? Partly for play, but also to introduce them to motherhood. So let’s cut the nonsense , kids are practicing killing with their toy guns.
It’s even worse at Christmas time, a so called time of peace. I feel like going round the shops putting stickers on saying “Don’t train your child to kill” Also I may be wrong, but I can’t think of one religion that is opposed to toy guns and weapons, they are opposed to many other things but not that, why is that do you think ? Quakers are the nearest I could find, they are pacifists, but there is no direct rule against anyone playing with toy weapons, it is most likely though that parents of that religious order would forbid it.

Of course there have been many peace seekers throughout history and I’m certainly not dismissive of any of them, it’s just that on writing the following John Lennon’s song “Imagine” came to mind.

The Pill.

Take this pill it will make you see nothing but the truth
All the lies and misdirection we’ve been exposed to since well before our youth
Your eyes will be open to all the brainwashing and propaganda
You will soon learn to live your own life, not ruled by another’s agenda

Or are you so comfortable in your own little world ?
Do you want to sacrifice to mammon every boy and girl ?
This world isn’t fit for one to raise a child
This world is run by evil creatures free and running wild.

So if I could I’d develop that pill, and give to all for free
Imagine a world with no weapons, no greed no malice no religious zealotry
I’d love to tell John Lennon if our souls should ever meet
What you Imagined all those years ago now laid out at your feet.

Sometimes writing these sends me down a rabbit hole, another song, short, sweet but to the point “ Peace will come” by Tom Paxton.

Something I saw on a wall on my way home on the bus from hospital yesterday lifted my heart it was asking for signatures on a petition “ Put love on the school curriculum “
What a fantastic idea !

    Buddhists are pacifists I think.

  2. The school curriculum does need a severe shakedown.
