Egg

Family traditions not many do we have.
There is just one tradition our immediate family share, we use the word “egg” as a greeting, this comes from the gradual morphing of hello, to “eggloaf” then just “Egg”. It’s quite good in a crowded place the shouting of “egg” usually gets attention. When our boys were little, one of their friends was a rotund little fellow, we greeted him at our door one day with “egg” We didn’t see him for months after that, he’d taken “Egg” as an insult, due to his build.

I’ve been resting the resulting injuries from my fall on the ice two weeks ago today, listening to an audio book “The Lost World” by Arthur Conan Doyle, So I’m sorry something from the archive again.

Pills

I have a pill in the morning, a pill late at night,
A pill for when the wheels fall off, and I’m not feeling right.
I have a pill for when I can’t sleep, a pill to wake me up,
A pill after what the tea leaves say in the bottom of my cup.

A pill for theft, a pill for crime,
A pill to help through the worst of times.
A pill for when I’ve got no cash, and I am feeling poor,
A pill for when the Necromancer is knocking on my door.

All words Meadowhead Bard.
