RUN, Run like hell, find a place to hide, and don’t come out. This life to me is like an ill fitting suit, too tight, too constraining. I’m a free spirit and should never have been put in this cage. Unfortunately there is little room for individuality now, and I never thought about it back then, just too busy trying to manage with the false dreams I’d been conned into thinking were a reality.
Just these two verses today I have though added on an old favourite, now in printed form in my book. “Wasted Youth”
Hello Me.
Hello Me how ya doin ?
By now you know you should be runnin
This job you’re so good at, it’s just a snare
No matter how good you are, you’ll get nowhere
Later you’ll discover you have talents, you don’t need these so-so’s
Those bosses they’re like vampires, that’s just the way it goes
Do it now go your own way, your own business
You will avoid disappointment and so much sadness.
Wasted Youth.
I’m just a kid,
Doing what kids always did,
Play with toys, and bang a saucepan lid,
I’m just a kid.
I’m just a youth,
Neither brash, nor aloof,
But a great desire to find the truth,
I’m just a youth.
I’m a young man,
I work and don’t have time to plan,
Don’t belong to any group or clan,
I’m a young man.
I’m married now,
I try to find my way somehow,
For the rich just another cash cow,
I’m married now.
I’m middle aged,
I’m now begining to get enraged,
What can I do I’m at this stage,
I’m middle aged.
I’m older and wise,
Peoples greed comes as no surprise,
Violence is on the rise,
I’m old and wise.
Im an old man,
I’m going to do just what I can,
To make the world understand,
We’re all bound for shadowland.
