Being dyspeptic and not being able to smell one’s worms probably. Can be helpful sometimes, for example today’s prompt, I am not going to write about exercise? that would be boring, so I’m going to write about exorcism instead. After all I can never see “How to exorcise demons” coming up on the prompt.
What gave me the idea for the following was the Stephen King novel “It” where an evil demon masquerading as a clown and calling himself Pennywise preys on children.
The world has own its Pennywise now and he definitely needs to be exorcised. I’ve called him Pennythick, so’s not to protect the guilty.
Pennythick
“Come with me” the orange faced clown said, I will bring you wealth, I will take you to a world where you can please yourself. So they all followed just like little sheep, into a cavern so very dark and oh so very deep.
Pennythick the clown he was called, pure evil in disguise, he was acquiring wealth by raining fire down from the skies. Really just a plunderer conning simple people, with simple tricks and lies.
His followers didn’t realise the nature of the beast, they just followed mindlessly on the promises of a feast.
A certain few saw this thing for what it really was. When asked “Why you are doing this thing. The answer was “Just because”
“Just because, this things so big, doesn’t mean it be can’t defeated” So around a table seven special people seated. They talked and talked late into the night, and through most the night thereafter, serious plans discussed interspersed with little bouts of laughter.
The seven they all had their special gifts and powers. Making people see the truth, to being able to see the future for the coming hours.
The airwaves were soon taken over, many forms of media were used, the truth gradually seeping out as to how the world was being abused.
People stopped buying goods that were feeding Pennythick’s machine, soldiers started shunning their guns like to them objects quite obscene.
Pennythick in his big White House soon began to shrivel, his horrid little mouth began to smoke and utter unintelligible drivel.
So the beginning of a bright new world for all and ever after, other monsters plied their wares but all were treat with laughter.
If only it was that simple!
All words Meadowhead Bard.
