My Favourite Holiday.

I would have to say Billie Holiday, as you all know I am a Bob Dylan fan, but Billie Holiday singing “Strange Fruit” equals in power almost anything Dylan sang, even his song about Emmett Till. Billie must have been immensely brave against the backdrop of KKK and even the American government. What a woman!

Talking about brave women, here’s one that has to be.

ANN
I see beauty all the time,
But beauty that’s quite shallow.
This beauty though that’s yours and mine,
Can’t belong to any other fellow.

You are mine, and I am yours,
That’s just the way it’s been,
For you my love I’ve opened doors,
You have seen all that I have seen.

My Beautiful shining wife,
You see me through, all my pain and sorrow,
No one else could share my life,
From days all past, to every new tomorrow.

All words Meadowhead Bard.
