The Hammer Song

I am asked by the prompt “What skill would I like to instantly acquire?” First of all a song called “If I Was a Carpenter” came into my mind, but that wasn’t right, what I was actually remembering was a Pete Seeger song. I looked it up, I thought it was called “”If I Had a Hammer” but I found it under the title “The Hammer Song” Here’s a few lines.
“If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning I’d hammer in the evening, all over this land l’d hammer out danger, I’d hammer out a warning
I’d hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land.

So here’s what I came up with.

IF I WAS A WOODWORKER

If I was a woodworker I’d like to be a make everyone an easy chair, until we can slow down and think, we ain’t going nowhere

I’d like to be a blacksmith bend people with wills of steel, introduce them to reality show them what is real

I’d like to be a plumber get the flow in the right direction, change the world by passive resistance not anarchy and insurrection.

I’d like to be a poet, write verses Oh so strong, get people to open up their eyes and say  “I know where we went wrong”.

All words except Pete Seegers lyrics Meadowhead Bard.
