Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

In My Opinion.

I think today, I’ll just let the poem speak for itself, other than to add a disclaimer ”The following is my opinion”

BOOKS

Books of love, books of violence, books that just don’t make sense
Books of learning books of numbers, books on how to grow cucumbers
Books of history, books of maps, books that just say “Well perhaps”
Books on how to live your life, books on how to love your wife
Books about someone specific, or how I rowed the great Pacific

Books they come in all shapes and sizes, also varied in their wiseness
Books can sometimes be condescending often baffle you with their ending
Tangled romances often sorted, happy endings oft reported
Many books about goblins and elves, biographies by people up themselves
How can we discern though fact from fiction, you can’t tell it from the diction

Books can learn, books can control, books can bury you in a hole
There are thousands of religious books, truly baffling when when one looks
I wouldn’t change any books ending, wouldn’t be that condescending
“All characters in this book are fictional” some books though are convictional
All religious books should finish with nothing cruder than just three words “Based on rumour”.

All words Meadowhead Bard”
