Everything Is a Little Upside Down..

“Every thing is a little upside down, as a matter of fact the wheels have stopped, you’ll find out when you’ve reached the top you’re on the bottom”.
A line from Bob Dylan’s “Idiot Wind” on his “Blood on the Tracks” album.
In answer to the prompt, I would live almost anywhere where there are no smart phones.

EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE UPSIDE DOWN.

We were having a lovely conversation on our phones in the restaurant
I saw her staring at you that lady dressed so elegant
Then she spoke to you, showed our phones no respect
There was something about your body then, something quite suspect

It was only just the one word, “Hello” but spoken without phone
I was beginning to get suspicious then, I should have seen the threat and known
As it happened that was it not another word between you uttered
as she turned to walk away with a shimmy I saw her eyelids fluttered

Our phones back in pocket and handbag, not another word was spoke
Who was this man I married, could this be the self same bloke
All the way home in the taxi phones did stay secreted
But I did have a bit of pride that technophobic woman I’d defeated

Technophobes are a real threat to society as whole
If these people don’t want a phone, then they should just leave us alone
Unfortunately, this series of events did not finish there
My husband kept disappearing not taking his phone but wearing clean underwear

These events got more regular, until one day I found
It must have fallen out of his pocket, just laying on the ground
S.P.A.S it said in bold type on the card
I worked out “Smart Phone Abolishment Society, it wasn’t at all hard

I’d heard of this anarchic group before, out to ruin society
All they cause amongst us proper folk is fear and anxiety
As well as many other things they claim speaking direct is more alluring
It certainly took my husband, we’re getting divorced and that’s a sure thing.

Yesterday I went to a classic car show with my old car, I wandered around the the groups of people, giving readings from my book, I sold eight books, a much better result than I get from my blog. I wonder, readers, do you want me to continue? I am getting tired, I have a new job, I have my hobbies. There is little point me continuing with this if people are not interested. Now is your time to let me know.
