I feel a strong bond to King Phineas, every time he was delivered a meal, the harpies would sweep down and take it away. So it is with I, every time I feel I am making progress through The Great Mire of Tech, I end up back at the square numbered one again.

A HAT STAND CALLED PAUL.
Hello Square One my old friend, how good to see you once again
I’ve be been on a little journey on the madness train
“Press menu” then select, hold down buttons one and two
All very precise from the manual I knew exactly what to do
Now raise your leg and with your toe press the middle dial
This was such a pleasure I hadn’t had cramp for quite a while
You should see a number now about half a millimetre high
Red on a black background to read it I did try.
I couldn’t read it, had to guess typed in numbers one to twenty two
The screen it flashed then went back to the dreaded word menu
I set out on the journey again with magnifying glass in hand
This was when my wife came home I tried to make her understand
Both hands up against the wall where thermostat it sat
One leg raised with its foot minus sock what was wrong with that?
Add to that the magnifying glass pressed up against my eye
She stared at me accusingly and just asked the question why?
She did understand my wife and then we tried again together
We were there a while it seemed it was forever
Until our son came untangled us and peeled us off the wall
An engineer came round he’s now a hat stand we call Paul.
All words Meadowhead Bard.
