Ask the Elephant

How to be a good person? Ask the elephant.

The Elephant in the Room

The elephant in the room, you can’t see him but he’s there
He’s the biggest thing in your life but about you he doesn’t care
Go on try to leave, try to find the door
On one side pointy tusks and trunk the other piles of stuff and more

“Why did I buy that thing? It’s more trouble than it’s worth”
“Why did I vote for them? They’re bulldozing the earth”
“Why did I start to smoke, why did I start to drink?”
“Why do I follow fashion, Oh it’s so hard to think!”

The elephant tells you who to like, who’s guidelines you should follow
He tells you to believe in mythical beings he’s such a clever fellow
He tells you “You should procreate” and “ Growth is what we need”
Of course he does, of course he does, on us needs to feed

The elephant in the room he controls your every thought
What you buy, what you dream and all that you are taught
He knows what you are thinking because he put that thought in your head
The elephant he’ll be with you until the day you’re dead.
