Here’s to the People who Built your Wealth and fought your wars.

The first thing I want to say in answer to this prompt is that it’s ageist. It assumes bloggers parents would have been alive at their age e.g young. At the age I am both my parents had died, my father just two weeks after my mother. They had both worked from the age of fourteen and my father had served in the army in World War Two.. They raised me and my two brothers against all odds. As far as successive governments were concerned they may never have even existed and they had no voice. This is one thing I rail against in my blog, good, honest, working people are treat as nothing, and yet we provide the wealth, without us their would be no rich, super rich or mega rich, Musk, Bezos, Trump or even our dear own leader Clear Stoma.

The Old.

We are the old, the library of the world,
We stand with the knowledge our banners unfurled.
We have seen all the evil that mankind can do,
Witnessed the wars the plundering too.

What can we do though? I hear you all ask,
We’re old and we’re wise we’re up to the task,
We’ve recorded now, it’s time to replay.
Let’s make the world hear, what we have to say.

All words Meadowhead Bard.

  1. Raises a real point about remembering the ones whose sacrifices shape our world today. 👏
