I was laying on the floor, stars swimming in my eyes
I must admit that book took me by surprise
I was looking for my copy of Meadowhead Bards last release
Now I’m flat out on the floor “Am I going to rest in peace?”

Books don’t usually on me have that effect
Of the kind of books I read I’m usually circumspect
A few books have given me nightmares like 1984
War and peace reduced me to tears, I found it such a bore

I’m beginning to think maybe I’m doing something wrong
I’m trying to think but still seeing stars and hearing birdies songs
Then I realised, and I’m going to sue for libel
I’d been struck from high by the Holy Bible.
