I had all the intentions of creating something new for today, but events overtook me, I had to deal with an emergency. A friend was taken ill at our weekly friends meeting.
So, this is a repeat and something I thought I’d never do.
LOOKING FOR MYSELF.
I look for my self under the sofa, I look for myself wearing my loafers
I look for myself I’m all at sea, I look for myself where can I be?
The man I was I’m not anymore, the man I was slipped out the door
If you see him say hello, I really miss that satisfied fellowI think he was kidnapped by age you know, where the hell else could he go
It’s no good I’ll have to reinvent, I’m not going to figure where he went
One day he was up on our roof, another thinking on the hoof
Now the day has turned into night, this old man has learned to writeLives are short lives are brief, they blow away like an Autumn leaf
All words Meadowhead Bard.
I’m not ready to let go of mine, there are plenty of grapes left on the vine
That man now disappeared from off your street, now replaced by a man dapper and neat
He’ll tell you a story, spin you a tale, ‘til the last beat of his heart, and the final trail.
