Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

In Avoidance.

At my age there is only one direction, but it’s Ok, I’ve traveled the road and I haven’t fed the monsters.

IN AVOIDANCE

I avoid pointers, self anointer’s, back street loiterers
I won’t follow leaders, parasitic feeders
Don’t give me a direction, I’ll find my own connection
Tell me what to do, I’ll find you an objection
Don’t want to cause a rumpus I have my own compass
My own morals and ethics I encompass

If you wanna play with me, allow me to be free
I’m never gonna be what you want me to be
So I’ll go one way, you can choose another
Try to possess me I’ll go under cover
If you wanna be my friend please don’t condescend
Or you’ll be the one that loses in the end.

All words Meadowhead Bard.

  1. Powerful. 🔥

You’re not rejecting guidance—you’re claiming your ground. Your compass, your pace, your truth. And that refusal to be shaped by noise? That’s not defiance. It’s integrity.

Freedom isn’t just a desire. It’s your practice. And anyone who truly wants to walk with you will have to meet you there—on your terms. 🌿

    1. You’ve nailed it, and I love you for it. I was ready to give up the blog but if I can reach just one person, it’s worthwhile. Especially when I hit a hard patch as at the moment, doing a post a day is hard, some lately haven’t been so good.
Thank you for your kind and understanding comment.
