Meadowhead Bard

Random and surreal poetry satire and short stories.

I Walk On Pins and Needles, I Hope My Tongue Don’t Slip.

“Children cry for mother I tell them, “Mother took a trip” Well, I walk on pins and needles I hope my tongue don’t slip” A line from Bob Dylan’s song “Call Letter Blues” an out-take from his album Blood On the Tracks” later to appear on the out|take album Biograph. Call Letter Blues most likely written about his separation with Sara, it is said was too close to the bone to put on Blood On the Tracks.

NEVER GO ON A ROAD TRIP.

I trip over my show laces, whilst out for walk
I trip over my words, sometimes I cannot talk
I trip over flagstones sticking up in the street
Sometimes keeping my balance, is a really tricky fete

I have to watch the words I use when writing this blog of mine
Whilst walking through the world, I watch my back all the time
If I should trip, who will pick me up, off the floor?
Would a crowd be watching, shouting more, more, more?

Life is one big balancing act, one has to be careful not to fall
Nettles on both sides, as you walk upon a wall
“Be prepared, be prepared” is the Boy Scouts code
But most important of all you know, never trip up in the road.

All words Meadowhead Bard, excepting, Bob Dylan quotes.

One response to “I Walk On Pins and Needles, I Hope My Tongue Don’t Slip.”
