When in England

Historian Alan Clarke coined the phrase “Lions led by donkeys” The phrase originally relating to poor leadership in the First World War. The phrase is still relevant now though, England is indeed led by incompetent’s, but I suppose that’s better than being led by an orange faced clown, or a mad monk.

WHEN IN ENGLAND

When in England, don’t forget to queue
In this country thats what we do
We queue for the doctors, queue for the vet
So please don’t push in and say “Can I get”

Don’t forget, it will be raining
All the shops your pockets draining
All the roads clogged up with cars
Drunken louts in all the bars

Our royal family raving mad
Our government pitiful it’s quite sad
The streets are not all paved with gold
You’re not welcome if your old

Don’t bother with London it’s just a show
All the good people live up north you know
It may be wet it may be cold
But come to Yorkshire we’ve hearts of gold.

All words Meadowhead Bard.
